Chandigarh, November 16, 2013: Extending heartiest greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the pious Gurpurv of the first Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev, the Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil said that Guru Nanak’s philosophy seek Sarbat Da Bhalla (welfare of all) and his message is relevant to the whole world, transcending all boundaries.
The Governor said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born at a time when society was ridden with the prejudices of caste, creed, social inequalities, discrimination against women and ill-gotten wealth.
In his message, Patil, described, Sri Guru Nanak Dev, as a divine soul and a great social reformer, and the real tribute to the revered Guru would be to carry forward his legacy to the present and future generations.
