Punjab to enhance level of general knowledge students-launches “Udaan”-Maluka

Chandigarh, August 23, 2013: The Punjab Government has launched 'UDAAN' project with a view to enhance the level of general knowledge of students of Government Schools. The project has been launched in1082 government schools for the students from class 6th and 12th in the state.

Disclosing this here today, Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Punjab said that the object of 'Udaan' was to improve and enhance the general knowledge level besides making them efficient for competitive exams. He said that thorough this project, students will be made aware about the current national and international affairs so they can appear in the competitive exams after passing class 10th and 12th examination. He said that Punjab government has also imparted training to the staff of 445 schools in this regard and after completion of training 422 more schools were brought under the ambit of Udaan.

Minister further said that total 90 sheets would be provided during the working days from July to December Minister also said that a sheet carrying ten general knowledge question were being sent  on e-mail to the connected schools. The same was placed on the notice board for the students.

He further said that to promote Punjabi Culture in the schools, the state government would also include ten more topics concerning Punjabi culture in the schools under this project.
