RAPE CHARGES: Proved concocted during police investigation

Ferozepur, January 2, 2013:  A few days back a case registered on the complaint of a woman on the charges of rape and physical exploitation, was found to be a concocted during an inquiry conducted by the police.

Varinder Pal Singh, SSP Ferozepur in a press conference said, earlier the case was registered keeping in view the sensitivity of the case but later on during the investigation by the police, it has been established as illicit relations.

On this occasion, Raghbir Singh, SP (D), Hardev Singh Boparai, DSP Zira, Gurpreet Singh, SHO Makhu were present.

SSP further said, the complainant, a resident of village Gudduwala under Makhu police station had alleged of physically exploitation by Gurjant for the last four years.

The accused submitted the details of phone calls made by the complainant were investigated and on scrutiny, it was found that she had allegedly made around 700 calls to the accused.

During investigation, it has been revealed that Gurjant had a relation with the complainant in the absence of her husband but with mutual consent. 

SSP further said, when the husband of the complainant came to know about their illicit relations through some villagers, he allegedly pressurised her wife to file a complaint of rape and physical exploitation against Gurjant with intention to teach him a lesson.

In view of the changed development, the police have converted the rape charges into that of adultery and started further action in to the case.
