Punjab CM greets people on Teacher’s Day

Chandigarh, September 4, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today felicitated the people especially the teaching fraternity across the state on the occasion of Teacher's Day and called upon them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, sincerity and honesty to impart quality and value based education to the students so as to enable them to become ideal citizens of society.

In the message, the Chief Minister said that the Teacher’s day was observed as a befitting tribute to a great educationist, academician and the former President of India late Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan, on his birth anniversary. He said that Dr. Radha Krishnan was a true statesman and a great philosopher whose unprecedented contribution in various fields especially in revamping the education system was still remembered by one and all. He said that after the mother, it was the teacher who left an indelible impression on the mind of a child that could never be wiped out.

On this historic occasion, the Chief Minister asked the teachers as nation builders rise to the occasion to teach students diligently with commitment for securing their future as ‘the students of today are the future of nation tomorrow’.
