Chandigarh,December 15, 2018: Panjab University in its Senate meeting, here today approved the Budget estimate for the year 2018-19 with revenue expenditure of Rs.577.77cr.
The Senate elected two Fellows (Non-Syndics) as member of Board of Finance for a term of one year from February 1,2019 to January 31,2020 term . They are Dr.Dalip Kumar Associate Professor P.G. College for Girls Sector -42 Chandigarh who got 56 votes and Sh. RaghbirDyal from Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab who got 50 votes.
The Senate considered and approved the item related to the letter from UGC which states that the regular teacher /Universities participating in the refresher courses /orientation programme organised by the UGC should be treated as “On Duty” and not as “On Duty Leave”.
The Senate approved the agenda item regarding the assignment of faculties of Languages, Arts, Education and Design and Fine Arts to Punjab Higher Education and Water Supply and Sanitation Minister, Smt.Razia Sultana.
The Senate deliberated on the issue of 24x7 opening of girls hostels. It was resolved that students be allowed to exit hostels after 11 p.m. after making entry in the Register maintained by the hostel. There will not be any fine on late entry and only one Register shall be maintained were students shall make entry.
