PU ranks 2nd in Indian Universities in Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2018

Chandigarh, February 7, 2018: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has been ranked No.1 University in Northern India and placed 2nd amongst Indian Universities in the ranking released by ‘Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2018’ followed by Jadavpur University, University of Delhi, BITS Pilani and University of Calcutta. Among Indian Institutions, PU has been placed at 10th Rank in the country when we include all IITs & IISC and 114th rank in Asia.
PU has an overall score of 31.5 with 32.4 in Teaching, 10.6 in Research, 55.5 in Citations, 31.8 in Industry Income and 16 in International Outlook.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof.Arun K.Grover said that it is commendable for PU to have improved its ranking. The University is consistently trying to improve the performance in all spheres of education and research, he added. He has congratulated the students, research scholars, teachers and staff for improving the rank despite the challenges.

Prof. M. Rajivlochan, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, PU said that PU’s performance is fantastic considering that PU’s hand have been tied by Government Policies.
