Jalandhar, April 18, 2015: President of Mauritius Rajkeswur Purryag has been declared state guest of Punjab. President Purryag is visiting India to address 4th convocation of Lovely Professional University.
On April 19 President Purryag will visit Golden Temple at Amritsar, and on next two days he will be the Chief Guest of the two-day Convocation ceremony of Lovely Professional University. Governor of Punjab & Haryana, Kaptan Singh Solanki will preside over the convocation ceremony at LPU, and Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal will be the Guest of Honour.
LPU is going to organise its 4th convocation on April 20 and 21 April, for bestowing honours/degrees/diplomas on mammoth number of 30,878 students. LPU will also bestow ‘honoris causa’ degree of doctorate on the esteemed guest President Purryag. LPU Regular and Distance Education students of 2013 batch will receive degrees/diplomas on April 20; whereas, all such students of 2014 batch on April 21.
