Chandigarh, March 9, 2015: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited applications for the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) at University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), PU Campus.

 The Prospectus and application form is available on the Panjab University Website i.e. http://puthat.puchd.ac.in/.The students can apply before April 13.

The admissions would be based on entrance test, the Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT), which would be conducted on May 3, 2015. The test shall be open to all such candidates who have passed (up to the Academic Session 2014-2015) in the 10+2 Examination conducted by CBSE or recognized Board/University/ Council with not less than 50 percent marks in the aggregate and English as one of the Compulsory Subjects.

There would be 60 seats in Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT)and 30 seats in Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM). There would be one additional seat each for only (single) girl child, cancer/AIDS patient, wards of Kashmiri displaced persons and wards of Kargil war.

The Last date for submission of online application to generate the bank challan is April 13, 2015 and Last date for submission of fee in any branch of SBI is April 15, 2015 till 4 PM. The Last date for submission the fee details and uploading of photograph, signature with the rest of the information on the website is April 17, 2015. E-Admit cards would be available on the website on April 27, 2015. There will be no physical communication for this purpose, PU Spokesman informed.

The paper for PUTHAT will consist of 100 questions of one mark each. Total time allocated to the paper will be 90 minutes. The medium of examination shall be English only. There shall be negative marking i.e., 25% marks will be deducted for every wronganswer. The test would have different Components. English Aptitude and Hospitality Industry Awareness would be for 30 marks each, Current Affairs & General Awareness an Reasoning Ability for 20 marks each.
