POLICE WEEK STARTS BY ORGANISING CLEANLINESS DRIVE & LOHRI CELEBRATIONS

Ludhiana, January 13, 2019: The Ludhiana Police Commissionerate would be organising Police Week from January 13-19, 2019, in which several social activities in different parts of the city would be organised. This Police Week was inaugurated today by organising cleanliness drive in and around the police stations and police colonies, besides celebrating the festival of Lohri. A large number of city residents as well as senior police officials also attended this function.

The function regarding Lohri celebrations was organised in Police Lines, here, which was attended by Commissioner of Police Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, Deputy Commissioners of Police Mr Ashwani Kumar and Mr Gagan Ajit Singh, ADCP’s Mr Surinder Lamba, Mr Deepak Pareek, Miss Gurpreet Kaur Purewal, Mr Sukhpal Singh Brar and Mr Kuldeep Sharma, ACP’s Mr Sartaj Singh Chahal, Mr Ramnish Chaudhary, besides several others.

Dr Gill informed that during the Police Week, cleanliness drive have been organised in and around police stations and police colonies today. This drive was organised in and around police colonies in Jamalpur, Sarabha Nagar, DPO, Police Station Division 5, near Sadar Police Station, near DIG office, Police Lines, besides other areas.

A senior citizen connect programme on January 14, awareness campaign regarding ways to tackle Economic Offences and issues related to immigration would be organised in prominent markets on January 15 and the same day, sports competitions of families of police personnel would be organised and on January 16, Inter Zone Volleyball competitions would be organised.

He further informed that on January 17, an awareness seminar on topics related to online fraud, social media fraud and ATM fraud for families of police personnel would be organised, while on January 18, a cricket match between gazetted officers and SHOs would be organised and on a cultural function would be organised at 5 pm on January 19, and this event would be attended by families of all police officials, followed by dinner.

On this occasion, Dr Gill congratulated families of police personnel as well as city residents on the occasion of Gurpurab and Lohri. On this occasion, a cultural function and kite flying was also organised.
