PCTE Group of Institutes Celebrated World Theatre Day

Ludhiana, March 25, 2015: PCTE Group of Institutes celebrated World Theatre Day by organizing Theatre Festival at campus. A Street Play “Acche Din” was performed by the PCTE Dramatics club. Various social issues like Human Trafficking, Parental Pressure on students, Peer pressure for intake of Drugs and Increasing Road accidents were demonstrated by the students in the play. “I feel in this modern time where theater art is dying out in most parts of our country, still there are a few who passionately follow dramatics as it remains the most effective form to influence minds & spread awareness” said Prof. Swapan Channa.

Second Play “Aankhein” was a satire on journey of five persons from being a blind person to a sighted human and still being ungrateful to life. It was featured by PCTE Dramatics Club. Manjinder Singh, student and passionate theatre artist said that it was an amazing experience to perform in the festival as every single audience appreciated the play and took it as learning.

Shubham Bansal, Student, BHMCT while reviewing the play said that there was great learning from the play. “Sometimes, we wait on God for special things to happen in our lives and the moment we get it they go unappreciated”, said Shubham.

Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the performers on the occasion. He appreciated that students showed great zeal, enthusiasm and spirit of art which was truly demonstrated in their performances and in the audience’s behavior during the festival. Dr. Kang added that festivals like these help students understand and experience true values of life and must be organised on regular basis.
