SC Commission Directs PAU Ludhiana To Implement Reservation

Chandigarh, November 22, 2015: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has directed the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana to implement reservation policy on all the teaching and non-teaching posts so that the SC category gets the representation due to it in accordance with the constitution of the country.
            Disclosing this, the Chairman of the SC Commission, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that the matter concerning the SC category not getting due reservation in the teaching and non-teaching posts in the university as per the constitution, was brought to the notice of the commission. Acting upon the complaints so received, the commission had summoned the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar of the university.     The Chairman said that the commission directed the university to implement reservation while making recruitments to all the teaching and non-teaching posts. This has been done to ensure that the deserving and meritorious candidates belonging to SC category get the job opportunities.
            Mr. Bagha further said that the university has also been directed to implement roster system in every cadre and the roster register regarding officers and employees of each department be prepared and maintained with precision like accuracy. He said that it would ensure the recruitment and promotion of officers and employees to be carried out as per the rules.
Divulging more details, Mr. Bagha said that the commission has also ordered the university to effectively carry out the implementation of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme in the government colleges affiliated to it. He informed that this scheme would help the SC candidates from economically poor families to get educational opportunities.
            On this occasion, the Deputy Director of the Commission Mr. Raj Bahadur Singh, Member Mr. Karanvir Singh Indora, Mrs. Bharti Kennedy and Mr. Babu Singh Panjaawa were also present.
