PAU's KVK Bathinda Imparts Training To Students And Farmers

Ludhiana, December 14, 2015: The Food Processing Training-cum-Business Incubation Centre, Bathinda conducted a five-day training programme on "Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables" under the guidance of Dr Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Research Station (RRS), Bathinda. Students of Diploma in Green Farming from Central University, Bathinda and local farmers participated in this programme.
 
During the interaction with trainees, Dr Paramjit encouraged the trainees to adopt food processing as a profitable enterprise to improve their livelihood.
 
Lectures were delivered by the experts namely Mr Angrej Singh, Assistant Professor, KVK, Bathinda; Dr Naveen Garg, Assistant Professor, RRS and Dr Anureet Kaur, Assistant Professor, RRS, Bathinda.
 
During the training, participants visited Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, and interacted with Dr Amarjeet Kaur, Head of the depratment She told the trainees about the potential of food processing as an occupation and wished them success in future.
 
Dr Preeti Ahulwalia, Associate Professor, delivered a valuable lecture on "Establishment of Small Scale Processing Units" and addressed all the queries of the participants. The training programme was coordinated Dr Gurpreet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant Professor (Food Technology) KVK, Bathinda.
