Ludhiana, November 17, 2015: The monthly training camp of Seed Producers and Nursery Growers’ Association (SAPNA) was organized at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the guidance of Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.
Mr PPS Pangli, President of SAPNA, shared the details of the meeting, held with the legendary agricultural scientist, Dr M.S. Swaminathan in Chennai.
Giving details, Dr T.S. Riar, Coordinator, SAPNA said the experts educated the members about the quality seed production and cultivation of wheat, vegetables and fodder crops. The experts also suggested the members of SAPNA to form a group, and follow PAU tips for successful cultivation of maize, berseem and vegetables in order to earn substantially, he added.
The resource persons included Dr T.S. Dhillon, Director (Seeds), Dr A.S. Dhatt, Head, Vegetable Sciences, and Dr N.S. Bains, an expert of Plant Breeding and Genetics. On the occasion, Dr A.S. Dhatt was honoured for assuming the charge of the Head, Vegetable Sciences.
