Ludhiana, January 14, 2015: A seven-day NSS camp is underway at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the theme “Awareness of Traffic Rules and Social Evils.” About 400 hundred NSS volunteers from the constituent colleges of PAU including College of Agriculture, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, and College of Home Science are participating in the camp.
Dr Damanjit Kaur, NSS Programme Coordinator, PAU said that the camp commenced with the cleanliness drive. In view of National Road Safety Week (January 11-17), a high level function on “Traffic Rules” will be organized on January 15 in the Pal Auditorium of the University, she said. Officers from DTO office and doctors will participate in the event. Besides, poster making and essay writing competitions will be conducted, she added. A rally will be organized in the city to create awareness among the general public regarding female foeticide, drug menace and other social evils, she said.
