Jalandhar, November 16, 2015: On the occasion of National Press Day, IKG PTU released its Insignia (Logo). This logo was approved by the Board of Governors of IKG PTU during its 57thmeeting. It is as per the Punjab Government’s amended gazette notification dated July 17, 2015. University released two logos, one as official logo (seal) and the other one is branding logo.
In the honour of former Prime Minister of India Late Sh. I.K. Gujral, Punjab Government has changed the name of university to IKG PTU. Accordingly, the university has changed its logo as per the new name. This logo represents technological richness of Punjab.
Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Registrar, IKG PTU said that the pass out students of the university are working in different companies worldwide. It is only media, which can establish the brand value of new name of university and its insignia among people globally. On the occasion of National Press Day, he congratulated media persons/organizations.
Mr. Rakesh Verma, IAS, Secretary, Department of Technical Education andIndustrial Training and VC, IKG PTU also congratulated Media organizations onNational Press Day. In his message from Chandigarh, he said that we shouldunite for free and responsible press in India. Press is regarded as FourthEstate and it is very powerful medium.
The PR section of IKG PTU also arranged discussion hour on “Ethical Journalistic Practices” on the occasion of National Press Day and presented a copy of insignia of the university to editors and high officials of media houses.
