Panjab University extends last date for deposit of fee without late fee upto July 19

Chandigarh, July 7, 2016: The Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has extended the last date for deposit of fee without late fee upto 19th July, 2016 by 4.00 PM. This was announced during the monthly PU Chairpersons Meeting here today.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover presided over the meeting, which discussed number of admission related issues. PU Dean of University Instruction (DUI) Prof.Dinesh K. Gupta, PU Controller of Examinations Prof Parvinder Singh, officers, Chairpersons/Directors/ Coordinators of various Teaching Departments/Institutions and many Campus Deans participated in the meeting.
The chairpersons were informed about various admission related guidelines as per which the admission would be conducted by the departments. The departments have been asked to put up Tentative Merit List and Provisional Merit List on the website/online notice board and notice board of the Department.
The students would be given two clear days for depositing the fees. Fees to be collected by the departments. The cost of admission form alongwith admission fee of Rs. 65/- would not be applicable to those courses where admission form has been made online.
Earlier two merit lists, one with subject concerned and the other without subjects, were prepared. Now, only one merit list would be prepared. The marks of the concerned subject would be added to the total marks of the qualifying examination.
The Weightage for Honors subject or any other weightage like NSS, NCC, etc. would be given only on the mark secured by the candidate in the qualifying exam. Weightage would not to be given in any case on the Entrance Test Score.
The departments were asked to first conduct the Counseling of General Category candidates and then that of candidates of Reserved Category. Any candidate, who has applied for a Reserved Category has to be first considered in General Category.
The departments have been instructed that the Waiting list would include the names of only those candidates who were present at the date of counseling. Attendance of every candidate, whether offered a seat or not, has to be taken on the date of counselling.
In case, there is no candidate left in the list of qualified candidates belonging to Reserved Categories who has qualified the Entrance Test / Aptitude Test, such seats of Reserved Categories would be converted to the General Category during the first counseling itself.
The unfilled seats among the seats reserved for SC / ST / BC / PH / Military Personnel /Riot Victim / Sports / FF would be converted to General Category on 25th July, 2016 by 5.00p.m after taking approval of the DUI.
The admission of all such students who fails to attend atleast 33% of the total lectures delivered and practicals held in all the papers during the first 10 working days from the start of teaching work in the course concerned would be cancelled by the Board of Control / Joint Admission Cell after following the procedure.
