Chandigarh, April 22, 2019: Panjab University, Chandigarh is all set to host 68th Annual Convocation scheduled for April 28, 2019 at the Gymnasium Hall, PU.
On the occasion, Hon’ble Vice President of India and Chancellor of Panjab University will be the Chief Guest at the Convocation.
PU will confer Honoris Causa Degree to Dr. Sudha N. Murty, Trustee Infosys Foundation, Bengaluru (D.Litt.) and award of Vigyan Rattan to Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO & Secretary, Department of Space, Bengaluru.
Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT. Chandigarh Sh. V.P.Singh Badnore and Governor of Haryana Sh. Satyadev Narayan Arya will also be present on the occasion.
The members of the Senate, Syndicate and Deans of the Faculties have been requested to reach the Reception Room of the University Gymnasium Hall attired in the Academic Robes by 9.30 a.m. All other Guests and students are also advised to occupy their seats by 9.45 a.m. on 28.4.2019. Full dress rehearsal would be held on 27.4.2019 at 11.30 a. m sharp at the Venue.
The candidates have been requested to occupy the seats 45 minutes before start of the convocation.
Prof. Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations, PU informed that the total 438 Candidates will be bestowed with Ph.D Degrees in various faculties, out of which, 142 are males and 296 are females. He further informed that 256 University Medals will be presented along with 95 Endowment Medals, apart from medals, cash prizes and diploma certificates, for various contests.
