Ludhiana, October 7, 2015: An orientation programme for students of new MBBS Batch-2015 was held at DMCH, Ludhiana. The programme began with introductory session by Assistant Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal. In his address, Dr Kaushal briefly introduced the students and their parents about the academic and extracurricular activities being held in the institute.
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri extended warm welcome to all those present on the occasion. In his welcome address, Dr Puri laid emphasis on punctuality and discipline for overall development of the personality of a student. He advised students on acquiring both cognitive as well as practical skills to gain professional competence. He emphasized that DMCH is committed to obtain the highest academic excellence by enriching the inquisitive minds of its students with the latest research findings and most up-to-date and advanced scientific knowledge and information on various subjects of medicine.
Chief Cardiologist, Hero DMC Heart Institute Dr GS Wander gave an exhaustive lecture on ‘Moral & Ethics of Medical Profession’ followed by lecture on details of curriculum by Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina. Dr Wander said Healthcare professionals often face complex ethical dilemmas in the workplace. Moral courage helps individuals to address ethical issues and take action when doing the right thing is not easy.
The students were also taken on a guided tour of different departments of the college and hospital as well. Regular classes according to the time-table has already started from September 11.
