Education World given fifth rank to PU Chandigarh among all educational institutions of country

Chandigarh April 24, 2015: Education-focused magazine, Education World (EW) has given fifth rank to the Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh among all the educational institutions of the country. PU is ranked third among the Universities of the country as the top two are the premier research institutions.

The first EW India University Rankings 2015 was conducted by Education World, whose school surveys are widely respected and trusted. C fore conducted the survey among 5689 people including academicians, final year students and industry representatives of 25 cities. They were asked to rate and rank the top 200 Universities on 7 parameters by field personnel of the Delhi based market research and opinion polls agency C fore.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has got the first rank. IISc is followed by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, University of Delhi (DU), Delhi and PU. The first two are the premier Research Institutes and JNU & DU are the Central Universities.

PU has scored 805 marks out of 1000. PU got 128 out of 150 in competence of faculty, 80 out of 100 in faculty welfare and development, 255 out of 300 in research and innovations, 67 out of 100 in Pedagogic systems and process, 70 out of 100 in industry interface/experiential learning, 75 out of 100 in placement and 130 out of 150 in infrastructure and facilities.

No other institute of Chandigarh region has found a place in the top twenty places in the University rankings released by the EW. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
