The trial of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has at last proved to be an appropriate verdict sentencing her four years imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs.100 crores in disproportionate assets case, has ultimately brought the ends of justice to meet. This stringent verdict will create a positive image of our Judicial system, help in developing faith in the common man and also project our country has a constitution and an established law system.

Although it took 18 long years to pronounce the verdict and send a corrupt politician to jail but credit goes to Judiciary as it had to resist pressure from political scenario. This verdict would help eradicate corruption and clean up political space, since independence, politics in our country has become a playground for criminals. Hence it is a good start towards a new direction as this way the politicians will work in accordance with provisions of law, bringing transparency in administration and will prove as an step forward in cleansing Indian politics of criminal malcontents who, because of a combination of muscle and money power, have forced their way into the hallowed portals of our legislatures.  Rather this stringent verdict should be considered as an exemplary decision of the court, which proves that the Bench authorities are meant to form one of the fundamental pillars of an effective administration of justice and are not being influenced by the political pressures. Particularly with pronouncement of a firm judgment like this and with Honble High Court of Karnataka  rejecting the bail to Former Tamil Naidu Chief Minister has rather proved within the society that our courts cannot be ruled by the political big wings of the country and hence made a transparent image of courts judicial functioning.
