Chandigarh, July 31, 2014: Punjab Chief Electoral Officer V.K.Singh today said that for the by-election of Patiala assembly constituency, two nominations have been filed till July 31 (today), while no nomination has been filed as yet for the by-election of Talwandi Sabo assembly constituency.
He further said that at Patiala, Bhagwan Dass has filed his nomination as Shiromani Akali Dal candidate today and Rajinder Singh Pawar filed his nomination as an independent candidate yesterday.
He said that candidates could file their nomination papers before the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)-cum-Returning Officers between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm till August 2.
V.K. Singh said that Voting for the by-elections on both seats would be held on August 21, while counting would be held on August 25.
