Official Wheat Procurement to End on May 25

8,44,717 MT Wheat Procured in District Ludhiana

Ludhiana, May 23, 2019: The official wheat procurement for 2019-20 Rabi season would now continue till May 25, 2019. Making an appeal to the farmers to bring their produce to the grain markets at the earliest, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that proper arrangements have been made for total procurement of the wheat crop.

Mr Agrawal informed that till date, 8,44,717 MT of wheat crop has already been procured from different Mandis of district Ludhiana, whereas this season, 9.25 lakh MT of wheat crop was expected to arrive in the mandis.

Mr Agrawal has appealed to the farmers who still have wheat crop to sell in the mandis, can bring it till May 25, 2019. He said that the officials of purchase agencies and commission agents are making the farmers aware about it in their respective areas so that the remaining wheat crop can also be procured. He stated that proper arrangements have been made for the farmers in the Mandis of district Ludhiana and said that entire procurement process would be carried out in a hassle free manner.
