Jalandhar, September 13, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized the Annual Convocation in order to celebrate the successful completion of academic level of academics of its scholars. During the Convocation, Manpreet Singh Badal, Minister for Finance & Planning, Punjab was the Chief Guest. Welcoming the eminent and illustrious guest, KMV Principal Prof.(Dr.)Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out a detailed report of the Vidyalaya's meritorious achievements at national as well as international levels in diverse fields like academics, co-academics, sports, NCC and many more. Some being the Autonomous Status & Heritage Status by the Government of India, Star College Status by DBT, Government of India, A Grade by NAAC, College with Potential for Excellence Status & it has been recently declared as the No.1 College in India in Best Value for Money category by India Today Magazine. Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal presided over the function & in his presidential remarks, welcomed the esteemed guest. He apprised the guests with the college's rich legacy and its iconic status and also motivated the students on the completion of their significant phase of their life in their academic pursuit. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee, Dr S.P. Gupta, Dr Deepali, Neeru Kapoor, Sushila Bhagat & other members of KMV Managing Committee also graced the occasion. The Chief Guest Manpreet Badal congratulated the young scholars on receiving their degrees and also shared his illuminating views on Nation-building. He lauded the role of KMV as the 'Centre of Ideas' that has always inspired young generation in the progression of the nation. He gave a clarion call to the young scholars to work tirelessly as well as selflessly to build a strong India of Tomorrow by joining hands for the abolition of poverty, corruption, illiteracy, unemployment and paying back the nation whose history is replete with the innumerable stories of unsung heroes. To augment the nobility of character, talent and skilled education, Badal assured the college to provide financial assistance to ten girl students desirous of joining defense services every year. On this occasion, he also released a brochure of ''Water Warrior Campaign'' launched by the college in response to the need of water conservation. The event also witnessed the release of a short documentary 'Conserve Blue'. During the culmination, a cultural program showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our country was also presented. Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare & Sadhna Tandon for successfully organizing the convocation.
