Man cleared of attempt to rape Indian boy

Dubai, May 14 (IANS) A Pakistani technician accused of attempting to rape an 11-year-old Indian boy in the UAE has been cleared of the charge due to lack of evidence.

The 57-year-old Pakistani, identified only as D.K., allegedly tried to rape the boy in the washroom of a mosque in Dubai Jan 9, Gulf News reported Wednesday.

The Dubai Court of First Instance acquitted D.K. after he pleaded not guilty contending that the accusation was unfounded and baseless.

The father of the boy said his son told him that a man called him to the washroom.

"He said the man undressed him in an attempt to rape him, but my son told me that he managed to open the door and run away," the father said.
