DEO Sakshi Sawhney urges voters to use voteforludhiana.in to track queue/crowd at polling stations on June 1

Ludhiana, May 19, 2024: District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney on Sunday exhorted the residents to use the website (voteforludhiana.in) to track queue/crack at polling stations on June 1 and go to the polling stations for voting as per their convenience.

Terming the launch of the website as an unique initiative to facilitate the voters on June 1, when voting will take place on 2921 polling booths, District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that with this, voters can track the queue/crowd at the polling centers on the day of the election. She said that the information about voters in queue would be updated after every half an hour.

Sawhney said that this was another step taken by the administration to help the voters in planning their time schedule for voting at their polling stations on June 1 keeping in view of extreme heat conditions.

The website has been developed by district administration and experts from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) experts including Dr. Akshay and Dr. Jagdeep (Faculty members). The experts have also trained the polling parties about how to upload the data and update the details on the website after every half an hour.

Sawhney said that the residents could track the crowd at any particular polling station through the website by submitting information regarding the booth number, constituency etc. A QR code has also been generated by the administration which will lead the residents directly to the website (voteforludhiana.in).

The DEO said that different initiatives are also being taken for ensuring sheds, fans, lemonade, fans etc. at the polling stations, so that the voters should not face any inconvenience due to heat.

DEO Sawhney said that the administration was committed to ensure maximum participation during the general elections and the aim is to achieve the target of more than 70 percent voter turnout (Iss Baar, 70 Paar). These initiatives will surely help in increasing voter turnout.
