M.A.Economics Department of DAV College, Jalandhar gives outstanding result in Sem-1 Exams

Jalandhar, April 17, 2019: Students of Economics Department of DAV College, Jalandhar gave an outstanding result in Semeter 1 examinations conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University by securing not only First 3 university positions but also 6 out of 7 top university positions.

Mansi Anand got 376/500 marks and secured First University Position. Apart from this, Damini got 374 marks and secured second position, Third position was bagged by Priya by scoring 371 marks, Fifth by Satinder kaur with 365 marks, Sixth by Rupali with 364 marks and Seventh by Sonali with 360 marks. It is worth noticing that all top positions are bagged by girls only.

Principal Dr. S. K. Arora while congratulating the students said that " I am proud of you all ". Today is a golden day for DAV College as our students got such an amazing academic results . While praising the Department of Economics, he said that the Department of Economics is a visionary, creative and intellectual department. I want to congratulate all the students, teachers and their families on this wonderful achievement. He said that our college has always been providing a studious environment to the students and dedicated and diligent students have always been getting all the help available with the college and will continue to get all the facilities.

HOD of Economics Department Dr. Suresh Khurana said that it is our priority to develop an interest in the students for economics subject , for which we never compromise on the education of children and we took class even on sunday . We arranged extra classes for students 2 days a week under the Indian Economics Service , which has increased interest in economics in children and have cleared most of their concepts and doubts . That is why we got such an amazing result .

During this time the students who got top positions were very happy. They credited their success to the college and their department. They said that they were always given every possible help from the department and teachers. While praising the teachers of the department, they said that all the teachers of the department are very cooperative and taught them with full patience and understood every problem of the students with very careful consideration. This is the reason why we all have achieved such a result today. That's why we are very thankful to the teachers of our department.
