Ludhiana News/Free eye camp and Children’s Day celebrated

Ludhiana, November 15, 2013: Bazurg Bhalai Sabha of Village Chak Bhai Ka of Tehsil Raikot celebrated Children’s Day on Thursday by organising Free Eye Check-up Camp in collaboration with Rotary Club Ludhiana and Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association Ludhiana.
Eye specialists of Sankara Hospital Mullanpur examined more than one hundred patients out of which 14 patients were taken to the hospital for performing eye surgery and fixing eye lenses etc. free of cost.
The camp was inaugurated by Ishwar Singh IPS, Inspector General Police, Patiala Zone who was the Chief Guest whereas Yurinder Singh Hayer IPS, DIG Punjab Police was the Guest of Honour.
On this occasion, Children’s Day was also celebrated in Government Primary School Chak Bhai Ka. School children presented cultural items. Books and scholarships were distributed amongst the students.
SP Karkara IAS (Retd.) President Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association Ludhiana exhorted the students to respect their elders.
