LIGHT & SOUND SHOW ON BATTLE OF SARAGARHI ORGANISED AT GURU NANAK STADIUM LAST EVENING
Ludhiana, October 31, 2018: To make people aware about the Battle of Saragarhi, a light and sound show on this battle was organised by the Punjab Government at Guru Nanak Stadium last evening. This event was attended in large numbers by the local contingents of Indian Army, Civil and Police Administration, along with a large number of city residents. This show has been developed by a renowned director Mr Harbax Latta. The Battle of Saragarhi was an example of the bravery of the Sikh youth. He said on September 12, 1897, 21 jawans and one cook of 36 Sikh Regiment, under the leadership of Jawan Ishar Singh, had fought bravely with more than 10,000 Afghan enemies at Saragarhi, and they had killed more than 600 enemies. This show was organised by the Punjab government so that the residents must know the historical importance of the battle and the extent of bravery shown by our jawans. The show was organised in coordination with the district administration and Army units. Those who attended this function included Station Commander of Military Station Ludhiana Brigadier Manish Arora, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, Chief Income Tax Commissioner Mr BK Jha, ADC (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDM Mr Damanjit Singh Mann, ADCP Mr Ratan Singh Brar, Col (Retd) Amarjit Singh, District Public Relations Officer Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, besides several others.
