Ludhiana, March 22, 2016: The N.S.S wing of Ramgarhia Girls College organised a lecture on wherein the students were apprised of the traffic rules and the services provided by Saanjh Kendras across Punjab. Sh.Satish Malhotra, ACP; S.Ravinder Pal Singh, Inspector and S.Daler Singh, Sub-Inspector, from Saanjh Kendra at Dholewal, marked their presence on the occasion. Principal, Dr (Mrs) Inderjit Kaur accorded them a warm welcome. Sh.Satish Malhotra said that it is imperative for the young generation to be familiar with the functioning of the police department. He talked about the safety of women in the city and averred that in order to be empowered; girls must have adequate knowledge which would facilitate them to resolve their problems. S. Ravinder Pal Singh highlighted the importance of following the traffic rules. He said that nobody should flout traffic rules as it disrupts the orderly and timely flow of traffic and puts the lives of others at stake. S. Daler Singh acquainted students with the 42 services being provided at all the Saanjh Kendras all across Punjab. He said that they have been opened by the government to bridge the gap between Punjab police and public. Dr (Mrs) Inderjit Kaur expressed her gratitude towards them for enlightening the students and appreciated the in-charges of N.S.S. wing - Dr (Mrs) Sawarn Kaur Grewal, Mrs Jasmeet Kaur and Mrs Harpreet Kaur for organizing the lecture. She further said that in order to benefit from the services being provided by the government, one must keep oneself informed. S. Ranjodh Singh, President, and S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, said that educating youngsters about the facilities being provided by the State is the need of the hour. They must not depend on agents for obtaining required documents but follow the procedures that have been considerably simplified for the benefit of public.
