Jalandhar, May 31, 2016: Mr.J P Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr.Bandaru Dattareya, Minister of State Labour & Employment and Mr.Vijay Sampla, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment interacted with educationists of the city here at DAVIET campus. They were here to celebrate `Vikas Parv’ on the occasion of completion of two years of Modi Government. In one to one interaction they highlighted the achievements of the government through new initiatives for an all inclusive growth.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, welcomed the dignitaries to DAVIET Campus. He highlighted the fact that DAVIETians are committed to take forward Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of Make in India, Digital India, Smart Cities and Stand up India to transform India into a Knowledge Economy. He expressed his confidence that under the stewardship of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, India will scale newer heights of success. He requested Mr. J. P Nadda, to grant a Technology Centre in Jalandhar on lines of technology centre in Baddi and offered DAVIET as the centre for it.
Mr. Bandaru Dattareya, Union Minister of State Labour & Employment, appreciated the work done by DAV Organization in the field of education and stated that DAV Institutions are known for their quality education along with Discipline. While sharing Prime Minister Modi’s initiative for welfare of the Workforce of India he stated that the Government is striving towards “Making India a Better Work Place for All”. He highlighted the fact that that the government is going to sign an MOU with Germany so as to improve the Skill Standards prevalent in the Indian workforce. He shared with all present that in the last two 1141 ITI s have been opened with a student base of 1 Lac and 70 Thousand. He stated that based on the recommendations of National Commission on Labour the Government has brought Small factories Bill to regulate the working and service conditions of workers in small manufacturing units employing less than 40 workers. Likewise he highlighted Modi’s vision by drafting four Labour codes namely Labour Code on Wages, Labour Code on Industrial Relations, Labour Code on Social Security and Welfare and Labour Code on Safety and Working Conditions by simplifying, amalgamating and rationalizing the relevant provisions of the Central Labour laws.He also shared that the government has allocated 1000 crore to Labour Department for employment generation.
Mr. J. P Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, stated that DAV has been synonymous with quality education and has worked hard to dispel the clouds of darkness from the society. He compared the current BJP government with the former Governments and stated that it is more proactive and result oriented. He highlighted that the focus of the current government is on “ Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas”. He stated that the current government is keen to have good relations with its neighbours and stated that when there was earthquake in Nepal it was Indian Government which was the first one to send its supply of Medicines and doctors. He also stated that Modi is very decisive about issues like Terrorism and Global Warming. He is ready to take responsibility but wants that others should do the same. He highlighted that in Jan Dhan Yojna in which 21.5 Crore Bank accounts have been opened in one year and the account holders have deposited 37.5 crore in these accounts. He touched upon Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna which gives a cover of 2 Lac with a premium of 330 Rs annually. While talking about Mudra Yojna he stated that 1 Lac 42 thousand crores have been dispatched by the Government to help medium and small entrepreneurs without any collateral security. He also stated that the government has allotted 10,000 crore to improve irrigation system in India with the slogan “ per drop , more crop.” He also shared that in the last two years 20 Km of road per day have been made to improve infrastructure. He also touched upon India's Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) to cover four more diseases - Rotavirus, Rubella, Polio and adult cases of Japanese Encephalitis. He said that it will cover 2.7 crore children and give momentum to India's aim of achieving Millennium Development Goal (MDG-4) targets that include reducing child mortality. He also talked about Modi’s commitment to maintain a transparent record of the services provided to all the patients and referred to AYUSH which was established for centralising all patient records. While replying to Dr. Manoj Kumar’s request Mr. Nada stated that he will be more than happy to make DAVIET a Technical Centre in Jalandhar and is willing to sign an MOU with the Institution.
The function was attended by Mr. Vijay Sampla, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat, MLA, Mr. Manoranjan Kalia, MLA, Mr. KD Bhandari , Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Sunil Jyoti, Mayor Jalandhar, Justice N. K Sood, Vice President , DAVCMC New Delhi, Mr. Arwind Ghai, Secretary DAVCMC New Delhi, Principal Dr. B. B Sharma, Principal M. L Aeri, Mr. Surendra Seth, Principal Dr. Jatinder Sharma, Principal Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Principal S. Jagroop Singh, Principal Mr. Vijay Sharma, Principal Dr. Sunita William among other dignitaries from the city.
