Lecture Presentation on Health Education by Dr Rajoo Chhina at GISTC

Ludhiana, September 8, 2016: Eminent Health Expert Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina; Dean academics and professor gastroenterology; DMCH delivered an exclusive presentation on "Health Education: Nutrition & Diseases"; in the Teacher training program organised at Government Inservice Teacher training Centre(GISTC) ; here in the city today . He discussed various common liver -diseases ;affecting the school going children ;like Hepatitis A & Hepatitis E. He discussed mode of spread of these viruses and the importance of hand -hygiene food among other preventive strategies.. He also impressed about importance of Hep B vaccination . He described spread of hepatitis C because of unsafe injection practices especially;rampant in rural setting.He also discussed the importance of nutritious -diet for maintaining good health and preventing various disorders. He described benefits of various commonly available food items in preventing various disorders like use of tomato for the prevention of heart disease, beans for kidney disorders, walnuts for preventing Alzheimer's disease.He impressed upon need of plenty of water intake in maintaining good health.He also described harmful effects of junk food on health and called upon teachers to inculcate healthy eating habits among students.More than 100 teachers of science n social studies subjects ; from almost hundred schools of the district attended the seminar and gained from Dr Rajoo Chhina"s experiences. Mr Ranjit Singh Malhi Principal and faculty of GISTC; felicitated Dr Rajoo Singh for his great contribution to the field of health and society. Mr Malhi welcomed Dr Rajoo Chhina. Faculty Member Dr Davinder Singh Chhina anchored the event n described the international achievements of Dr Rajoo Chhina in the field of Health Education . Among those present on this occasion included Mr Surinder pal Singh ; Mr Ujjalveer Singh ; Ms Balwinder Kaur; Ms Manjeet kaur ( all senior lecturers) ; Mr Pramod Joshi; Dr Avinderpal Kaur; Mr Shakti Kumar; Ms amanjyoti ; Ms Shivani and Ms Neelam Naresh ( All Lecturers) and all MRPs of GISTC .
