Krishi Vigyan Kendra And Department Of Agriculture, Fatehgarh Sahib Celebrated World Soil Health Day

Ludhiana, December 6, 2016: Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Department of Agriculture, Fatehgarh Sahib has celebrated World Soil Health Day at village Attewali. On this occasion the Deputy Director of KVK has suggested the farmers to grow PAU recommended verities. He gave the lecture about the importance of soil testing for appropriate use of fertilizers, as the continuous use of chemical fertilizers affected the soil health. Mrs.Reet Verma, A.P (Plant Protection) inspired them about the proper time to use of agricultural fertilizers she also advised the farmers about the proper spray technique of the chemical. Mrs.Maninder Kaur, A.P (Agronomy) advised about the method to take soil sample and how to read the soil report. She also discussed about the various problem which comes during wheat crop like weed control and symptoms of deficiency in micro nutrients and their management. Dr. Pirthi Pal Singh chief agriculture officers advised the farmers to get their soil tested after every 3-4 year. Soil test officer, Sirhind suggested the farmer to conserve our natural resources for future generation. At the end S. Gagandeep Singh from village Bara gave vote of thanks to the scientists and farmers.
