New Delhi, September 14, 2019: Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd (KNPL), one of the leading paint companies in India and pioneers of ‘Healthy Home Paints’ has created a 600 sq ft floating Pookalam with recyclable Nerolac paint cans and floral décor to celebrate the festival of Onam.
The Pookalam was unveiled by Bala Kiran IAS, Director, Department of Tourism, Kerela along with Muthukumar S Iyer, Zonal Business Head, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd at the ongoing Champions Boat League event on 14th September at Karuvatta in Alappuzha, Kerala as a part of Nerolac’s association with Champions Boat League, as key partner.
Kerala’s festivals are a majestic riot of colours. A breath-taking visual, the floating Pookalam is an inspiration for bright shades in the Nerolac - ‘Color Symphony of Kerala’ colour palette. A significant aspect of what makes the Champions Boat League 2019 so unique, is its evolution from being a traditional competitive sport to dawning a brilliant new avatar that is full of energy, enthusiasm and resplendent with colours. This makes it an apt choice for Nerolac to bring alive its ‘Color Symphony’.
Commenting on the occasion, Muthukumar S Iyer, Zonal Business Head, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd said, “Onam is by far the biggest and grandest festival celebrated across Kerala & amongst the global Malayali population. Pookalam or the flower rangoli is an integral part of the festival. Through the installation Nerolac attempts to bring alive ‘Color Symphony of Kerala’ with its diverse colour palette that is modern yet rooted in culture, tradition and festivals.”
The recyclable paint cans used for the installation will be converted into utility products at the end of the league.
Speaking about the initiative, Peeyush Bachlaus, AVP – Marketing, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. commented, “Over the years, Kansai Nerolac has tried to effectively engage with its customers through its product portfolio and customer awareness campaigns promoting transformation and environmental sensitivity. We aim to spread the joy of colours through this larger than life Pookalam. It is our way of encouraging, celebrating and cherishing Kerala’s heritage with pride and an eco-friendly celebration of the festival of Onam.”
