Jitendra Gupta elected general secretary to Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association, North-West Region

Mr Jitendra Gupta has been elected general secretary to Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association, North-West Region, which included J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Haryana. The elections were held on August 18 in Chandigarh. He defeated his nearest rival Mr. Dharampal Chaudhary by a margin of 140 votes. Mr. Gupta and Mr Chaudhary polled 318 and 178, respectively. Contestants belonging to Mr Gupta’s Team won 14 out of 16 seats. A total 496 electorates used their franchise to vote. On arriving at Faridabad, the income tax officers and staff accorded him a rousing reception and offered him the sweets. A similar reception was given to Mr Gupta at Gurgaon too. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta said he would fulfill all the promises made during the elections for protection of rights, welfare and security of members of the association.
