International Symposium on Shri Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings and philosophy organized at GNDEC

Ludhiana, January 5, 2019: The whole world is mesmerized by the teachings of Sahib Guru Nanak Dev Ji as these teachings have been the guiding light for generations and shall continue to do so. These words were said by Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, President, Shiromoni Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar. He was the chief guest for the international symposium on the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji organized to commemorate the 550thparkashpurv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Presiding over S. Longowal said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji promoted brotherhood over and above the differences of caste, creed, income and religion. He gave the mantar of kirtkaro, namjapo and vandchakho, which hold good even in todays time. He said that SGPC was all for promoting the teachings, ideas and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji through its educational intuitions. He declared that SGPC would also open NRI cell and would go for printing of literature citing Guru Sahib’s teachings in thirteen languages. He exhorted everyone to come forward and contribute towards making the celebration of 550thparkashpurv a grand event. On this occasion, noted Sikh scholars Dr.Anurag Singh said that Guru Ji gave the preaching’s of sharing with everyone. He also promoted the ideals of removing differences of society and gurbani teaches us to follow his tenets. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sehijpal Singh, the Principal of College thanked the President, SGPC for choosing this institution for this function. He said that following gurus guidelines we should move on the path of truth and pray for wellbeing of all. On this occasion, the students of the college had presented a lecture on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his philosophy. Prof. Surinder Singh Director, Raj Academy alongwith his mates presented the shabadgayan based on ragas. The students of the college recited shabadkirtan. Over 40 eminent personalities who graduated from this esteemed institution over a period of time, included Canadian MP SukhDhaliwal, Air Marshal Er. Raj Karan Singh Seehra, Chairman PSPC S. Baldev Singh Sra, Vice-Chancellor, IKG PTU Dr. Ajay Sharma were honoured by S. Gobind Singh JiLongowal and S. Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal. 60 present students who have excelled and brought laurels in various fields were also honoured on this occasion. S. Gurmel Singh Sangowal, S.Gurcharan Singh Grewaland trustees of Nankana Singh Education Trust were present on this occasion.
