International Pathology Update 2018 conducted

Ludhiana, February 11, 2018: Department of Pathology today organized the International Pathology Update (IPU 2018) as NW Chapter of IAPM. The conference was attended by more than 200 delegates who included practicing pathologists and post graduate students from various parts of the country. Internationally renowned pathologists like Dr Bharat N. Nathwanai (USA), Dr Jagmohan (USA) Dr Shree G Sharma (USA) were the main speakers. They covered wide spectrum of pathology by delivering excellent lectures on approach to lymphomas, challenges in renal and breast pathology and mimickers of various common lesions in routine pathology practice. The conference enlightened the practicing pathologists about recent advances in the field and provided a platform to the post graduate students to showcase their work in the form of free papers and posters during the conference.

The CME was inaugurated by Mr Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary Managing Society, DMCH and Dr Sandeep Puri, Prinipal, DMCH, Ludhiana.

Dr RK Vasishta, President NW chapter IAPM emphasized that the specialty of Pathology forms the basis of not merely diagnosis but also the understanding of disease processes. There have been tremendous advances in this field in the past few years and conferences like IPU 2018 provide an opportunity to update oneself, deliberate and discuss the academic and scientific work and share professional experiences.

The organising chairperson of the event, Dr Neena Sood, Prof and Head, Department of Pathology, DMCH, welcomed the delegates and speakers. She acknowledged the efforts of Dr Jagmohan Sidhu and Dr B.S Shah for helping in arranging this mega event. Dr Neena in her message further assured the participants that combination of interesting lectures and discussions will enrich their current knowledge and clinical skills.
