Inter- House One Act Play Competition in Cambridge International School

Jalandhar: To provide a platform to the students to exhibit their dramatic skills and infuse a sense of healthy competition among students, an Inter House One Act Play Competition was organized in Cambridge International School, Jalandhar on July 27. Students from all the four houses – Cedar, Maple, Oak and Pine participated in it. All the participants showcased their innate theatrical talents in Punjabi language.

The One act Play was based on the theme – ‘ WE CARE’. Under this theme Cedar House showcased a play which exhibited Importance of family for making life worthwhile. It also showcased how family stands together as a strong institution in any odd situation. Maple House presented a play on the topic Save Earth. Whereas Oak House highlighted the impact of environmental exploitation and the need to Save Trees. Pine House showcased a comic satire which was a bitter comment on the failure of various state agencies to protect the life of humans. All the participants gave their best performance and portrayed each character to the fullest.

The result of the One Act Play is as follows:
Pine House clinched First Position. Whereas Maple House got Second Position and the third position was bagged by Cedar House. In addition to the house positions, Ameera Makkar of IX-E was declared as the best actress and Krishna Aggarwal of IX A and Madhav Jalota of IX-F the best actors.

The energetic performances and thought provoking issues left everyone spellbound in a reflective mood. The presentations were thoroughly enjoyed by the students and the resonance of their applause motivated the performers immensely.

On this occasion Chairman LWES Mr Ajay Bhatia, Vice Chairman LWES Mr Nitin Kohli, President LWES Mr Deepak Bhatia, Members of School Management Ms Mona Bhatia and Ms Pooja Bhatia, Senior Executive Director LWES Mr J.K Kohli, CEO LWES Dr Brijesh, Chief Academic Officer LWES Ms Deepa Dogra, Members of Secretariat LWES Ms Geeta Mahajan, Ms Meenu Huria, Ms Smita Verma and Principal Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon encouraged and admired the children for their wonderful performances. They congratulated them on their keen insights into such socially sensitive and critical matters.
