CTU holds deliberation on Astronomy and Space Science Technologies

Ludhiana, October 8, 2018: CT University (CTU) held a special lecture on Space Science Physics delivered by Dr HV Mweene, Dean, School of Natural Sciences, the University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia.

Welcoming the expert, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor said that team CTU feels honoured to have such an immensely renowned speaker from Zambia who is well known in the field of Space Science Physics. He added that such deliberations would help the students to think out of box in context to emerging technologies and extraterrestrial findings.

In his presentation, Dr Mweene, said that the subject of space has acquired overall new dimensions and added that India was quite advanced in astronomical and space science in ancient times. He described Space Physics as the study of the lot above Earth's atmosphere, up to the rim of the solar system and added that research in these fields include analyzing spacecraft data, performing theory, building equipment for sounding rocket experiments, or simulating space physics conditions using laboratory experiments.

Talking about space exploration technologies, Dr Mweene said that a lot remains to be discovered as the number of stars are as huge in number as sand particles of the seashores of the world.

CTU Managing Director, Manbir Singh said that India has tremendously progressed in space programmes in the world and added that scientific thinking needs to catch up with new exploration capabilities. He described thought provoking session by Dr Mweene a kick start for new ideas.

Giving the vote of thanks, Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Registrar said that the information shared by Dr Mweene was not only limited to present technologies but a sneak peek to future technologies.
