Fatehgarh Sahib, November 11, 2018: Continental Group of Institutes, Jalvehra, Fatehgarh Sahib magnificently organised ‘Jashan 2K18 Fresher Cum Farewell’ with a vibrant, contagious and exuberant soul. In this dazzling event the students of Continental College of Higher Studies (CCHS), Continental Institute for Engineering and Technology (CIET) and Continental Senior Secondary School participated enthusiastically with jovial smiles and high spirits.Continental Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Lt. Col. B.S. Sandhu (Retd.) presided over this mega celebration. Director, CGI Lt. Gen. (Retd.) HRS Mann,Sr. GM Admissions-CGI &Principal, CCHS Prof. Navdeep Kaur Chauhan and Principal (CIET) Dr.Kuldeep Kumar graced the occasion with their presence. The day commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, which was followed by the Ganesh Vandana to seek the blessings of the almighty. Director, CGILt. Gen. (Retd.) HRS Mann extended a warm welcome to the eminent guests. He encouraged the students to work hard for a successful future. He said that the institution has opened doors of opportunities for them and their achievements will depend on their own initiatives and efforts. CGI, CMD Col. Sandhu (Retd.) while sharing the enlightening words of wisdom with the students, motivated them to continually work on developing skills and make best use of the environment and facilities available. He apprised the students that the institution primarily focuses on making the students a good human being and also a successful professional through a strategic teaching of both theoretical and practical aspects. He added that every problem is an opportunity in life – to learn, to innovate, and to solve. He encouraged the outgoing students to keep giving their best while striving for success in whatever they do in their lives. Principal, Chauhanasserted that the challenge before the students is to strive to evermore to scale the heights. Also, they should ensure that the fruits of their labours benefit the society around them. After this, the ecstasy filled party began with a blast with pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music. The cultural high voltage extravaganza beautifully portrayed the rich cultural diversity of our country. Kashmiri Dance, Dogri Dance, Bhojpuri Dance, Western Dance, Fusion Dance, Giddha and Bhangra kept everyone spellbound. Hilarious performances of bhands and skit made the audience laugh till their bellies hurt.Everyone got captivated by hypnoticmodelling and exhilarating singing performances. The students eagerly waited for the star attraction of the event the Mr. and Ms. Fresher and Farewell Contest.Mr.Sohail Bashir Dar and Ms.Palak Sethi were crowned as the Mr. & Ms. Fresher (CCHS). Mr. Wahid Nissar and Ms. Sonia were adjudged as the Mr. & Ms. Fresher (CIET). Mr. Jaspreet Singh and Ms.Jashanpreet Kaur were pronounced as the Mr. & Ms. Fresher (School). Mr. Umar Farooq and Ms.Daljeet Kaur were declared as the Mr. & Ms. Farewell (CIET). The students also enjoyed a delightful variety of eatables and took the pleasure of being together..The party was a great way to germinate good bonding and strong connection between the students and it reflected the rich tradition and culture of the Continental Group of Institutes. Later, the students were taken to the DJ Floor, for which they were eagerly waiting for and they just danced on peppy numbers as if no one was watching them. Everyone was taking away memories of an evening to be cherished lifelong with a broad smile upon the face.
