Chandigarh, October 17, 2015: The Regional Passport Office Chandigarh will be holding a Passport Adalat, on 4th November 2015 (Wednesday) at its premises Regional Passport Office, SCO 28-32, Sector 34 A, Chandigarh.
Applicants who have submitted their Passport Applications on or before 31/12/2014 (till year 2014) where passports have not been issued as yet will be required to attend the said PassportAdalat.
Disclosing this Shri Rakesh Agrawal Regional Passport Officer Chandigarh said that in the year 2014 the Chandigarh Passport Office received around 3.85 lakhs applications. Out of those applications around 3000 applications are still pending because of various objections in the files and because of non-submission of required documents. Our aim is to facilitate passports to these applicants by fulfilling all the requirements on the spot.
General objections in the files are Criminal case pending, Birth Certificate is doubtful, previous passport not disclosed, change of date of birth, change of particulars, forgery in the documents, etc. A special drive is being conducted to clear these files. Many times objection letters have already been sent to such applicants. Now these applicants are being given last opportunity to come to Passport office with original documents, explanation and file number receipt for further processing of their applications.
 
All the districts under RPO Chandigarh will be covered in these passport adalats. The Districts Covered are:  SAS Nagar (Mohali), Chandigarh, Panchkula, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Bhatinda, Sangrur, Barnala, Patiala, Mansa. Ludhiana, Khanna, Jagraon, Moga. Ambala, Jind, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Bhiwani, Yamuna Nagar, Hissar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa.
Applicants whose passport application is pending in RPO Chandigarh since year 2014 then they should come in the said passport adalat on 4th November 2015. The information about adalat is also being put on the website www.passportindia.gov.in . He said that files submitted prior to year 2013 have already been disposed off by the Passport office.
