Hero DMC Heart Institute conducted “Free Heart check up Camp” for female teachers of Sacred Heart Convent School
Ludhiana, August 18, 2018: On occasion of Independence Day yesterday, Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI) in association with Women in Cardiology &Related Sciences (WINCARS) yesterday conducted free heart check up camp for female teachers of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar. According to Chief Cardiologist-Dr GS Wander, Hero DMC Heart Institute has taken an initiative under the theme ‘Independence of Women from Heart Diseases’ that free heart check up camps will be conducted at regular intervals for working women in different schools, colleges and other establishments of the city. Dr Shibba Takkar (Associate Professor of Cardiology, HDHI) examined the patients and said like their men counterparts; women also need to take care of their health and should not consider themselves less prone to heart diseases. It is now scientifically proved that women too are prone to cardiovascular diseases and in order to have better quality of life, they should take proper precautions and adopt preventive measures. An informative lecture was also conducted by Dr Shibba Takkar, in which she stressed about various preventive measures to be adopted for leading a healthy and balanced life style. In total, 100 teachers were examined during the camp. Dr Gagandeep Nagi, Research Physician Hero DMC Heart Institute, conducted a cardiovascular health survey in which all participants were included and their outcomes discussed and disseminated.
