Talwandi Sabo, October 9, 2015: Recently Sub Junior State Boxing Championship held at Phagwara from October 1 to 3 in which students across the Punjab participated different categories. Kiranveer Kaur student of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo secured gold medal in 63-66 weight category after winning consecutive 3 bouts. Dr. Kewal Singh Director Sports GKU congratulated the student and stated that morning-evening activities by Physical Education department nourishing the students up to levels, this is a reason of GKU students more actively participating in sports. GKU’s Boxing Coach Prof. K.P.S. Mahi and Mr. Hardeep Singh Coach (Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Centre, Talwandi Sabo) guided the student during the tournament.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor Guru Kashi University congratulated the winner student and stated that students should participate maximum in sports along with their academics. He also assured to provide every possible support from the University side.
