Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo on Tuesday launching 30 New Vocational and Skill Development Courses.
Talwandi Sabo, May 26, 2015: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo launched more than 30 new courses in different streams to cater to the needs of student community as per the requirement of corporate world. Dr J.S Dhaliwal Chancellor GKU launched 30 plus new courses along with Dr N.S. Malhi Vice Chancellor, S Sukhraj Singh Sidhu (MD), Dr. Jagpal Singh (Pro. VC) and other senior officers of the University graced the occasion.
Dr. Dhaliwal said that Guru Kashi University is always heading towards the initiatives to meet the educational needs of rural catchments of Punjab and other states. The basic objective of the University is to steer the development of the region through engaging the youth in skill development programs, capacitating them to develop as entrepreneurs in various spheres along with enhancing the employability of the trained youth.
During the launching ceremony of the new courses Dr. N.S. Malhi (VC) shared that around 100 courses are already running successfully in Guru Kashi University and the new courses are industry relevant to the present social requirement and time relevant, which will definitely increase the participation of youth towards the national development.
The courses at various levels (Diploma, Degree and PG) named Multi Purpose Health Worker, Medical Nursing Assistant, Medical Lab Technology, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assistant, Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant, Food Processing and Diary Technology, Fishery, Fire Safety, T.V. Reporting & Anchoring, Religious Studies, Physiotherapy, Library & Information Science, Sports Physiotherapy, Entomology are available for students.
In this launching ceremony all the Dean, Directors and other senior officers of the University were present.
