Ludhiana, October 8, 2015: The final day of “Entrepreneurship Awareness Program” at GGNIMT concluded with the experiences of the young entrepreneurs who proved their mettle in entrepreneurship. This part of the program intended to highlight the challenges and remedies associated with entering into a new venture.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chabbra, Co-ordinator, GGNIMT welcomed the esteemed guests and experts on the occasion.

Mr.Sachin Lakra, Executive Director, S. K Bikes, an alumnus GGNIMT was the first speaker for the day. He traced his journey from his days at GGNIMT to his venture into S. K Bikes. He informed the students that the fear of failure is the biggest obstacle for a successful venture. He advocated that an entrepreneur should have a clear focus & vision and the attribute of quality decision making. He highlighted the importance of class room education as the hallmark for strong theoretical foundation. He further said that a sound academic base helped a budding entrepreneur to grasp practical application easily. He advised the students to discover their vision and to follow it passionately.

Mr. Dinesh Malik, MD, Virtual Edutechnica Pvt. Ltd,  discussed about the knowledge business. He talked in length about edu-preneur, entrepreneurship in the field of education. Ms. Somalika Dutta Roy, Business Partner with Virtual Edutechnica said that a creative idea  is the backbone of the business. She highlighted the facts and figures to demonstrate that India is the fastest growing community in terms of number of technical products and digital startups in the world . She also elaborated on the project Euroka.in, a 3-D concept lab for science and math based learning.

Dr. Ramandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjab Agricultural University deliberated on the topic “Initiating change within a community”. He highlighted that the entrepreneurship is a human activity that is instrumental in economic development of a country. He exhorted that “Entrepreneurs’ vision should be to determine the missing link and then to build products to fill those gaps. Dr. Singh also dealt in depth with the Agri-business systems. He said that the growth of small scale industries not only contributed to the GDP but also helped to serve as a march towards the industrial democracy.

Mrs. Baljeet Kaur, Project Officer, RCED elaborated on the importance of social entrepreneurship for the upliftment of the society. She inspired the students to connect with society to identify the issues that are  hampering the society, with a view to take up the cause for its mass improvement. She proposed a social entrepreneurship club that would work on the development of organic kitchen and serve the society with chemical-free food. “Excellence is the only remedy to unemployment”, said Mrs. Baljeet Kaur while motivating the students to indulge in social work and become extraordinary to perform extraordinary.

The previous two days inspired the budding entrepreneurs on various sub themes

Mr. S. B Singh, CEO, Taaran Industry , Ludhiana guided the students on various entrepreneur skills.

Ms. Astha Malhotra, Soft Skills Trainer trained the audience with the soft skill nuances needed to become successful entrepreneurs.

Mr. Manish Sharma, Director, Discover In shared tips and tricks on how to go about setting up one’s own ventures. He also discussed about the entrepreneurial opportunities in the Digital World.

Mr. Manjeet Singh Jaggi, Senior Manager, P&S Bank and Cluster Manager for implementing govt. emphasized on the importance of requisite information elicitation and planning for successful entrepreneurship.

Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Rekhi, Senior Project Manager, DIC elaborated on the various Acts available for the proper governance of entrepreneurship

S.S Dhillon, Former Director, Ministry of MSME focused on analyzing the Techno- Economic and Commercial feasibility of the project.

Principal Dr. P. S Khattra thanked the guests on the concluding day for sharing their valuable insights.
