G.S. Bali meets Central Ministers Demands release of remaining amount of 791 JNNURM Buses

Shimla, May 30, 2017: Transport Minister Shri G.S.Bali today met Central Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi and demanded construction of by-pass at Nagrota-Bagwan in District Kangra. Besides, a detailed discussions were also held on water transport, plying of electric buses and other related issues for which the Central Minister gave his assurance to sympathetically consider the demands.

Later, Shri Bali also met Central Urban Development Minister Shri Venkaiah Naidu. He urged for releasing the remaining amount of Rs. 16.20 crores in respect of 791 buses purchased under JNNURM. A total amount of Rs. 19.77 crore was sanctioned for these buses, out of which only Rs. 3.57 crore were received by the State Government till the closure of the scheme. However the Apex Committee had approved the entire amount for the State. Shri Bali urged for early release of the amount in question. He said that the Central Minister has agreed for releasing above amount.
