Ludhiana, November 25, 2016: Dr Manjeet Singh, Senior Research Engineer has been appointed as Head, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, PAU.
Dr.Singh has handled 8 adhoc research projects funded by ICAR/DST/AICTE etc. He has developed/evaluated/popularised 21 machines/technologies, out of which 9 have been recommended by PAU. He has published 3book chapters, 47 research papers in peer reviewed journals and 40 full length papers/abstracts in the proceedings of various national and international level conferences. Besides this, he has also published 43 extension articles and 10 extension bulletins/manuals. He has guided 7 PG students as major advisor, apart from being a member of advisory committees of 15 PG students as Dean PGS nominee/ technical member. He was Visiting Professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan in the year 2010.
Dr Singh has been the recipient of Senior Professional Engineer Award from Alumni Association of College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur in 2016. He also received award for Guiding Best M Tech Thesis by Indian Society of Technical Education andJYOTI AWARD conferred by Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE).
He has organised 104 trainings/workshops (67 as member of coordinating team and 47 as coordinator) and 46 field demonstrations of farm machinery during various extension programmes. He has delivered 140 extension lectures, 45 invited lectures and 13 TV/Radio talks.
