Free Polio Corrective Surgery Camp

Ludhiana, May 22, 2016: Bharat Vikas Parishad Dr.Kitchlu Branch in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust Punjab organised Free Polio Corrective Surgery Camp on Sunday at Viklang Sahayta Kender, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana. Twelve Polio affected patients were operated by Dr Pawan Dhingra, M.S (Ortho). In addition 15 persons registered for assessment and follow up treatment.
Er.Anil Gupta, MD, Tech Auto Pvt Ltd, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest and main sponsor of the camp. He complemented the efforts of Bharat Vikas Parishad in mitigating the sufferings of Handicapped persons. Smt Manorama Sharma, President Nirbal-ke-Balram was the Guest of Honour. Sh. Ashok Marwaha, State Convener,(Health and Yoga) was Presided over the function.
Er. B.K Bhalla welcomed the dignitaries & participants. He said that their Branch has been organizing such camps regularly since last couple of years.
Sh. R.P Gupta, Press Secretary highlighted the projects undertaken by the Trust. He said that Trust has organized 1087 camps so far in which Artificial limbs, Calipers, Crutches, Tricycle & Hearing aids were provided to more than 45853 physically handicapped persons. The Trust has also organised Polio Surgery Camps, in which 2269 polio operations have been done successfully.
Sh. Ravinder Mittal, proposed the vote of thanks. Others who attended the camp included Dr. D.R.C Bakhetia, Smt. Savita Aggarwal, Sh.
