Fire Safety Week observed at DMCH

Ludhiana, June 10, 2019: In a series of conducting awareness lecture and demo classes on fire safety, DMCH Disaster Task Force, Fire and Safety Department has organized a fire safety session today at main Reception of OPD Block DMCH. This Fire Safety week will be observed from 10th June to 15th June, 2019 by conducting fire safety sessions and demo classes in the various locations of Hospital premises.

Secretary DMCH Managing Society- Sh Prem Kumar Gupta appreciated the efforts of DMCH Disaster Task Force, Fire and Safety Department in creating awareness among general public and staff members of the hospital.

Chairperson, DMCH Disaster Task Force and HOD of Plastic Surgery Department Dr Sanjeev Uppal highlighted the importance of fire prevention. Dr Uppal further said that fire leads to injury or death, a small preventive action can save many lives. Various types of fire extinguishers were demonstrator to the general public and different types of its application were also discuss.

Different types of Fire Extinguishers are:-

Ø Water type fire Extinguisher used for paper, clothes and wooden

Ø Foam type fire Extinguisher used for flammable liquid

Ø Carbon dioxide type fire Extinguisher used for flammable liquids and electronic fire

Ø ABC type fire Extinguisher used for every type of fire.

Dean Academics , Dr Rajoo Singh Chinna said that every person should know that what to do in case of fire .Dr Chinna said that the main motive to conducting this fire safety week to educate the general public about fire safety and educate them how to use various fire extinguisher.
