Ludhiana, January 22, 2019: To spread awareness about Startup Ecosystem and scout aspiring and grass root entrepreneurs, the state government in collaboration with Government of India, is organising Startup India PunjabYatra across the state. Startup Yatra will act as a platform to bring awareness about the Govt. policies and incentives under the startup scheme and would provide an opportunity to the youths to turn their innovative ideas into reality.

The main objective of the Startup Yatra is to motivate the youth, create self employment, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance. General Manager District Industries Centre (GMDIC) Ludhiana, Mr Mahesh Khanna informed that bootcamp regarding the same would be organised at Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) Baddowal, here, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on January 29, 2019, where the participants with innovative ideas would be shortlisted for the acceleration programme.

He said that the Startup India Punjab Yatra van would stop at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on January 25, 2019.

He said that the acceleration program will be organized on February 5 at Mohali, followed by finale on February 6, 2019. Cash awards will be given to top 3 ideas amounting to Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 in each of the five sectors i.e. Social Sector, IT Sector+Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, Health and Wellness, Agriculture and Manufacturing.
