FILING petition for recounting polled votes in Panchayat elections landed in dispute

Ferozepur, July 24, 2013:As per the Crime Report released today, the Sadar Police Station have booked seven persons on the basis of complaint lodged by Virsa Singh, resident of Khai Pheme Ki alleging that all the persons manhandled with him by entering his house and threatened with dire consequences at about 7.15 PM on Tuesday.

Virsa Singh also stated in his complaint that in fact his party has filed a petition for recounting of the polled votes during the last Panchayat elections.

Ramesh Masih, SHO, stated that those booked in the case under Sections 324, 324, 506, 452, 148 and 149 IPC are Jugraj Singh, Stanam Singh, Mora Singh, Gurmej Singh, Lakhbir Singh, Balvir Singh and Sarbajit Singh of Khai Pheme Ki.

According to Ramesh Masih, who has been entrusted with the enquiry, no arrest has so far been made and the investigation is still going on.
